Two riders from the BISSELL Pro Cycling Team will face their National Road Race Championships this weekend. Richard England will compete in the Australian Road Race Championship, and Jeremy Vennell will race in the New Zealand Road Race Championship.
The Australian Elite Men’s 162km race will be taking place in the Victorian capital city of Ballaraat. The race is comprised of the 10k Buninyong circuit. The uphill circuit includes winding down hills and a fast flat sprint to the finish. Richard is coming off a strong showing at last week’s Jayco Bay Cycling Classic where he had a ninth, seventh and fifth place finish. The field at this year’s National Championship will be a tough one including riders such as Stuart O’Grady, Baden Cooke, Matt Wilson, Graeme Brown, and Allan Davis. The event is also an Olympic qualifying event for the Beijing Olympics.
Jeremy will be competing in the 182km BikeNZ National Road Championships. This is a seven lap race at the Apley Road circuit outside of Taradale. The course consists of a few hills and was the site for the 2003 Road Nationals. Jeremy will be facing defending champion, Julian Dean, Aaron Strong, and Gordon McCauley.
The BISSELL team sends off Richard and Jeremy with confidence and support!
