Stage 3 - Friday, May 16
Scenic Gorge Time Trial
The Dalles to Hood River
18.2 miles

The challenging Time Trial was expected to be the critical stage in this year’s Mt. Hood Classic, and it didn’t disappoint. The 18.2 mile point-to-point course was set along the breathtaking Columbia River. The tailwind on Friday added to the high speeds of the race. The long climb and fast snaking descents allowed Rory Sutherland to build up a considerable time lead winning the stage. BISSELL riders rode a great time trial placing three riders in the top 10. Ben Jacques-Maynes was second on the day. His time was 26 seconds behind Sutherland placing him 30 seconds behind in the GC and only 1 second ahead of third place, Darren Lill. Other outstanding rides included another great day for Teddy King finishing 7th and Jeremy Vennell finishing 9th.
