The Bissell team's Tour de Georgia stage five winner from Australia, Richard England, ran away with the sprint after his directeur sportif Glen Mitchell have him the green light have a go on the run in to Dahlonega. England is no stranger to field sprints, taking a fourth place in stage one and two top ten finishes even after providing his team with invaluable domestique work throughout the duration of the race.

Australian Richard England of Bissell Pro Cycling used a downhill decent in the final 500 meters to push himself to a Stage Five victory at 2008 Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T.

After sitting behind a ProTour engine over 133 hilly miles, Bissell’s Richard England timed his sprint right to take stage 5 of the 2008 Tour de Georgia on Friday. Slipstream-Chipotle’s Trent Lowe finished in the select front group of 22 riders to take the yellow jersey from High Road’s Greg Henderson, who had a hard day and came off the group on the second KOM climb.

The Tour of Georgia ramped up the toughness significantly on Friday, as the race headed into the mountains for the first time. Bissell's Richard England, former Aussie Crit Champ, took the sprint after a long, hard day in the foothills of the Georgia mountains.
