Morgan Schmitt claimed 6th place on Final General Classification at this weekend's San Dimas Stage Race. The weekend was an excellent test for the younger riders on Bissell Pro Cycling, and they did not disappoint, with Paul Mach and Morgan Schmitt placing 7th and 8th in the opening stage hill climb TT.
The next day, in a frenetic Pomona Circuit race, Frank Pipp, Burke Swindlehurst and Graham Howard all spent time in significant breaks as they tried to escape the Fly V Australia controlled peloton. In the finale, Phillip Gaimon from Jelly Belly escaped the clutches of the field, while Bissell Pro Cycling's young speed sensation, Cody O'Reilly blitzed the peloton to take second place.
On the final stage criterium, Director Eric Wohlberg instructed the riders to ride an attacking race, and once again that is what they
did- with even Morgan Schmitt launching out of the peloton as a significant GC threat. The race came down to a bunch kick, however, and Frank Pipp put Cody O'Reilly into the pointy end of the race on the final lap, with Cody sprinting to 4th place.
