The opening stage of the Tour de San Luis saw BISSELL in the action from the start with Ben Jacques-Maynes off in the day’s breakaway. Ben was able to take full points in the KOM. The lead group eventually grew to 4, and Ben contested for the intermediate sprints taking 2nd in the first sprint and 1st in the second sprint. The crosswinds and significant work from the sprinter’s teams eventually brought back the lead group. Kirk O’Bee was right in the action for the final sprint and took 19th on the day. Ben finished the day winning the KOM jersey and got second in the sprint competition.
